At Yeshiva University High School for Girls, we recognize that every student brings unique strengths and learning needs to their high school experience. The Dr. Martin Lilker Learning Center is dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning styles by providing tailored opportunities and accommodations within a safe and nurturing environment. Our Learning Specialists collaborate closely with administration and faculty to create individualized learning plans that address each student’s academic and social needs. Support is offered through a range of services, including small remedial classes, curricular modifications, one-on-one tutorials, and teacher consultations, always striving for the least restrictive environment that fosters full integration.
The Learning Lab provides small-group sessions focused on building study skills, reinforcing course material, and preparing for assessments. By proactively observing classes and working directly with students and teachers, our specialists empower students to develop the tools and confidence needed to succeed independently in our rigorous academic program. We deeply value open communication and partnership with parents, knowing that teamwork is essential to each student’s success.
The Office of College Guidance at YUHSG is dedicated to helping each student find a university that reflects her academic goals, religious values, talents, and aspirations. Beginning early in high school, we guide students with purpose and clarity, encouraging them to approach each year with confidence. The college admissions process is a collaborative journey between the student, her family, and the College Guidance Counselor, with thoughtful consideration given to academics, campus life, Jewish community, location, and extracurricular opportunities. Throughout this process, our office provides essential resources, including scholarship information, application deadlines, and internship opportunities.
Our Director of College Guidance, Mrs. Rena Boord serves as an advocate for every student, maintaining strong relationships with university admissions offices and highlighting each student’s unique strengths and achievements. We take pride in showcasing the rigor of YUHSG’s dual curriculum and the breadth of our academic and extracurricular offerings. With a personalized, student-centered approach, we ensure that the college process is meaningful and empowering. Families are encouraged to connect with our office at any time — we are here to support, guide, and celebrate every step of the way.
The Joy Rochwarger z’l Balsam Office of Israel Guidance at YUHSG is committed to helping students and their families understand the profound impact of spending a year immersed in Torah learning in Israel after high school. We guide students through every step of the application and scholarship process, preparing them for a transformative experience that fosters independence, deepens their textual skills, and nurtures meaningful spiritual growth.
The guidance process begins in senior year with our annual Israel Night, where students and parents explore post-high school programs, hear from seminary representatives, and engage with alumnae who share firsthand insights. Throughout the year, the Israel Guidance Office continues to serve as a vital resource with shiurim, events, and one-on-one support. Mrs. Yael Axelrod, Director of Israel and Religious Guidance, advocates for each student and partners with families to help find the right seminary fit — making this next step in their spiritual journey thoughtful, informed, and personal.
